Staff Introduction
Precision & Choreography
Pam is an inspiring instructor who loves to teach the Pilates repertoire with a strong focus on precision & choreography. Originally from the East Coast, Pam received her Pilates certification in 2006 from PhysicalMind Institute, where she studied under master trainer Maria Leone.
Pam instructs a variety of clients, from the more athletic individual to those requiring injury rehabilitation. She has a significant background working at physical therapy clinics, where she worked with therapists to help rehabilitate injured and post-breast cancer patients, and has experience training pre-natal and post-partum patients.
Pam started practicing Pilates five years before she became an instructor. She was taking cardio, weights and strength training at her local gym, but was searching for another form of movement that would compliment her other activities. She noticed the benefits of Pilates very quickly and realized that it was ideal for her body. “I liked the way Pilates changed my body for the better. It slimmed and strengthened my core significantly, lengthened and strengthened my muscles, and improved my balance and coordination,” she says. “Plus, there’s an infinite variety of exercises so I was never bored. I definitely feel that, the more you practice Pilates, the more you learn. It’s always challenging and interesting.”
Pam became an instructor upon the encouragement of a friend, who is a personal trainer and aware of her passion for Pilates. “It was like a light bulb moment for me,” Pam says. “I knew that this was what I wanted to do, that it would be a good fit for me. I really enjoy the opportunity to create enjoyable, intense workouts for my clients and help them achieve their individual fitness goals.” Pam’s favorite part about her work is when her clients feel that they are making progress, witnessing their reaction when they master a new exercise, and when they start seeing the positive change in their bodies.
Pam has an Associate Degree in Art, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. In her free time, she also maintains a yoga practice, and also enjoys hiking, bike riding, rollerblading and enjoying life at the beach.
