Kelley Austin teaches clients the art of Gyrotonic and Pilates in a way that shifts their perceptions of their own limitations. His teaching style is the ideal blend of gentleness and strength. Kelley received his Pilates certification from Long Beach Dance Conditioning, where he graduated with distinction, and was certified in the Gyrotonic Expansion System at Angel City Body Kinetics under Lisa Marie Goodwin.

He has extensive experience in spine and hip rehabilitation, gained while working with individuals suffering from spine injuries, scoliosis, and those recovering from back surgery.

Kelley discovered the immense rehabilitative benefits of these methods while searching for a way to alleviate his painful migraine headaches. After trying everything from chiropractic treatment to acupuncture and yoga, he found that Gyrotonic workouts completely cured his migraines. Kelley was so inspired by the incredible results he experienced that, after a lengthy career building race cars, he decided to become an instructor of these two phenomenal modalities.

“When I became an instructor in 2002, not a lot of people like me had been exposed to Pilates and Gyrotonic,” Kelley says. “It seemed that it was mostly dancers or celebrities that were able to experience these two systems. I realized that this was my opportunity to make it more accessible to everyday people.”

Kelley thrives on making a difference in his client’s lives. “My goal is to help my clients carry themselves better and grow stronger so that they can move through their world in a healthier manner,” he says. “By keeping them moving and increasing their body awareness, we’re able to help clients enjoy a better quality of life.”

Kelley is extremely active in his spare time – he enjoys surfing, snowboarding and driving anything with wheels on it, from motorcycles to bicycles and everything in between.
