Jamie Lynn Nelson

Jamie Lynn Nelson is a kind, upbeat teacher who strives to make her clients feel comfortable during their workouts. Her precision-based teaching style is deceptive because while her focus on detail makes the workout challenging, clients also feel the gentleness of that focus –an ideal style for someone needing rehabilitation.

Jamie moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California, and quickly decided to make this sunny haven her permanent home. After receiving her degree in Theater & Communications, Jamie worked as a waitress until her spine could no longer deal with lifting heavy trays of food. Unable to afford physical therapy, she decided it was time to learn how to fix her own back.

Jamie received her Pilates certification at Long Beach Dance Conditioning from Marie-Jose Blom in 2003. She learned that most of her back problems stemmed from her feet and knees, which inspired her to become a foot and knee specialist. Jamie also specializes in helping people who don’t like to work out ease their way into it without hurting themselves. Her clients are wide-ranging – she has some who are over the age of 90!

Jamie grew up in Montana where she was a skier and ballet dancer. In her spare time, she enjoys “Pilates walking” and teaches Belly dancing. Over the last few years, Jamie has studied Thai Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Hula and Polynesian dancing to broaden her knowledge base.
